DJ Khaled proposes to Nicki Minaj with a $500k diamond ring

Publicity stunt or is he for real? 37 year old record producer, rapper, DJ and record label executive, Khaled bin Abdul Khaled, better known by his stage name DJ Khaled, asked Nicki Minaj to marry him via a video posted online and he explained why he wants Nicki as his wife...
"I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. The only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I know that you're busy. You need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you. You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand... but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me. I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring... Nicki Minaj... will you marry me?'
DJ Khaled popped the question with a $500,000 diamond ring and with help from MTV. Nicki hasn't responded yet. The two recently worked together on Nicki's latest single 'Twerk It'.

s Denrele Gay??? You Won't Believe His Response + Photos

Nigerian entertainer, Denrele Edun has been the source of quite a few controversies.
One of which is the question of his sexuality. Perhaps, due to his feminine and flamboyant nature, a lot of people have wondered if he is indeed homosexual.
He addresses the rumors below;

Is Derenle Gay?

I think people believe what they want to believe.

But a lot of people believe you are. And to prove them right, a picture of you Charley Boy went viral on the internet recently…

I don't read the news, I make the news. The thing is people tend to look for loopholes when they see you doing well. And since people feel I'm feminine in nature, then they think I'm gay. But the truth is I don't really care about what people say because I'm not fashioned according to what the society expects. And also I think for my personality, if I were gay, the news would have grown from speculations and would have been in people's face.

On the part of Charley Boy and me, I was not expecting the paparazzi that came with the picture.

So what was the picture about then?

I really don't want to go into details, but it could have been a controversial agenda, it could have a been a publicity stunt, it could have been the real deal and it could have been photoshopped, but whatever it was, people should just go ahead and make their conclusions.

So why is Denrele still single?

I'm a hustler and I'm still trying to get myself together. When the time comes, I'll get married definitely, but there's no one in the picture now. I'm searching and ready to mingle.

Who is your ideal woman?

I like someone who would not try to change me and who would understand the complexity that I am. I want someone simple and absolutely free and not intimidated by what I represent.
It will probably be interesting to know that he did not outrightly deny being gay, and he avoided pronouns when replying the question regarding his ideal "woman".
Anyway, check out the infamous pictures of him and Charly Boy below. And as for his sexuality, looks like he will continue to keep us guessing.

Daybreak: We can’t believe we were pranked

Now that the Emeralds are out of the game and the Housemates have proven themselves right and some wrong about the Emeralds, life can go on as usual. The game was made interesting by Biggie by introducing the mysterious six and the Housemates were left with a bitter taste in their mouths.

This morning after the exercise routine, Sulu and Elikem couldn't get over the fact that they were pranked and that they were compeltely sold by the Emerald's existence. Biggie sure knows how to keep the Housemates on their toes.

Elikem started counting how many days of The Chase are left and how many will be leaving per week from here on. "This is the ninth week and so maybe one person will be leaving this Sunday and the rest of the weekends it will be two each," he said speculating the situation.

Annabel admitted that the Emeralds were pretty good actors but they didn't have all of them fooled. Cleo said that she told JJ that he was the only one that was holding it down for Zimbabwe and he did not feel fazed about that fact, with Cleo not knowing that he was on a mission to prank them. None of the Housemates can ever accuse Biggie of being boring again, that's for sure.

What other pranks do you think Biggie has up his sleeve for the Housemates?

Annabel, Elikem and Sulu are up for possible Eviction this week. Vote here to keep your favourite Housemate in the game.

Stay tuned to DStv channels 197 and 198 for all your Big Brother Africa The Chase action or catch the daily shows on Africa Magic Entertainment (DStv channel 150) at 20:00 CAT.

Meet The American Who Speaks Yoruba With Passion

If you want to provoke Kevin Barry, ask him how he became so proficient in Yoruba. Then, he would ask you how you were able to master English to the extent that you speak and write in it with little effort. Otherwise called Kayode Oyinbo,  he has mastered Yoruba such that he would even prefer that the telephone interview be conducted in the language. And so stunningly good in Yoruba haD Barry become that he has stolen the heart of actor and producer, Saidi Balogun. He is the star of U or I, the movie that Balogun premiered in Lagos last week.

"He is so passionate about Yoruba that he gets disturbed each time we are speaking and we Yoruba people mix English words with Yoruba," Balogun notes as he recounts his experience with Barry. Barry's adventure in the Yoruba worldview gathered steam when he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin to study International Relations and African Culture. But it really gained  flesh in 2010 when he visited Nigeria for an exchange programme  at the University of Ibadan. He says his passion became fired and he gave the project all he could to master the language.

"There is nothing I cannot say in Yoruba," he enthuses. "I am humble about it, but I speak it as much as I speak English." He recalls that he met Balogun at an event in New York, USA. After they became friends, Balogun introduced acting to him and invited him to take part in You or I, a movie that looks at marriage from the perspectives of what makes or mars it.I care about people I relate with. I wouldn't want to be part of just any film. But when I looked at the script that Saheed gave me, I told him that I wanted to be part of it."

The American, who plays the talking drum, bata, among other instruments, says the making of the film was very tasking. Apart from the fact that they had to move  from one country to the other – US, Spain, South Africa and Nigeria – which makes him to describe the experience as involving a gorilla style, he adds that there were days they had sleepless nights.

Kayode Oyinbo, who says he is also involved in public relations and events, enjoys Yoruba foods and loves Nigerian music. He loves seeing everyone dancing when a music is being playing at parties, unlike the typical American experience where, he says,  many parties are silent, if not dull.
He says, "I have eaten many Yoruba foods, including snakes."

Balogun adds that he chose to work with Kayode Oyinbo because he (producer) always wants to give viewers a unique experience.  He adds that he does not believe in churning out films without investing a lot in creativity, which, he says, stands out a good movie.

NLC Threatens To Join ASUU Strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has threatened to join the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in solidarity strike if the Federal Government failed to address the ASUU demands. NLC President, Abdulwaheed Omar, made the threat at the opening ceremony of the "2013 Rain School" in Uyo.
"We call on the Federal Government to have meaningful dialogue with ASUU with a view to implementing the agreement.

"The state governments should equally obey the law and pay minimum wage to teachers and the local government workers as well as the 27.5 per cent teacher's enhanced salaries.

"Should these strikes persist, workers of Nigeria will not hesitate to join them in solidarity," he stressed.Omar said the modules of the rain school were designed to train members of affiliate unions and state councils of the NLC. This is in order to equip them with necessary skills to empower and protect their rights at workplace." He said that the theme of the 2013 Rain School was imperative due to the obvious violation of workers' rights in the workplace and in the larger society.
The Akwa Ibom Chairman of NLC, Mr Unyime Usoro, commended the leadership of the congress for keeping to its promise on making Uyo the permanent host of the school.

"On our own part, we intend to ensure that the standards set five years ago that led to the permanent hosting right is not lowered.
"It is significant to note that the government of Akwa Ibom has graciously approved the building of the permanent block for Rain Schools here in Uyo to gather for the training needs of the union leaders across the nation," he said. The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the theme of the occasion was: "Strengthening the trade Union for Defence of Workers' Rights."

Housewife Dies During Sex With Lover In Hotel at Igando Lagos

The price of adultery is always tragic if one considers what happened at the weekend in Lagos between a young man and a married woman in a hotel room.
The man took the housewife identified as Glory Abbey to a popular hotel where she died during sex romp between the lovers.
The yet to be identified man quietly abandoned her corpse in the room they lodged and fled without informing the hotel's management about what happened.
The incident happened at Kings of Queens Hotel located at 11, Otunba Oladokun Street, Lanre Bus Stop, Igando, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
What could have caused her death was not yet known because the autopsy report is not yet out.
According to the hotel's manager identified as Saliu, the woman came to the hotel with the young man, booked a room and went in.
"After staying for several hours in the room the man came out and told the security men that he wanted to buy food outside and he did not return to the hotel," he said.
They later discovered the woman lying dead on the bed in the room.
Saliu said he did not see any physical injury she sustained and could not explain what really  caused her death.
The owner of the hotel, Otunba Richard Oladokun, who also confirmed the incident, expressed shock over what happened.
He said he was informed about what happened on phone by his manager and he went to the police station at Igando and reported the matter.
He said he came with the police to the hotel and found the woman lying dead on the bed and the police took away her corpse to the mortuary.
Oladokun said what surprised him most was that the young man who brought the woman to the hotel initially picked his calls and promised to come back but did not. Rather, he later switched off his phone and no one has been able to contact him again since the incident happened.
Nobody has been able to contact the woman's husband or relatives as there is no address to trace them at the time of this report.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, described Glory's death as sudden and  unnatural.
She said her body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy, while the police have since commenced investigation into the matter.
A  similar incident happened sometime ago when a married woman who had four kids was found dead after she went to a hotel in Mushin with her lover who is also married and has kids. During the sex romp, the woman collapsed and died. After she died, her lover attempted to escape but he was caught and handed over to the police. The police later charged him with murder at Ebute Meta Magistrate's Court Lagos.

Nigerian Graduate Gets Nottingham Trent Varsity VC’s Award

A Nigerian Nottingham Trent University student who provided Christmas dinners for dozens of fellow international students unable to return home for the holidays has received a prestigious vice-chancellor's award.

Betty Alali Odema received the award for the quality of her academic work, her contribution to internationalism of the university and her support for fellow overseas students during the annual graduation ceremonies, watched by senior government officials who had travelled from Nigeria. The vice-chancellor's awards are given annually to one person from each of the university's nine schools.

University lecturer Imad El-Anis, who nominated Betty, said: "As well as the excellent work for the course and work to boost internationalism, she mentored and supported fellow overseas students. In 2012 she cooked and sold different African foods to raise more than £1,600 for a student struggling to pay tuition fees.
"And every Christmas since 2010 she has personally funded, cooked and organised Christmas Day dinner for fellow international students unable to travel home to their families for the festive season.

"Betty has been a real inspiration." The international relations student said: "I was overjoyed when I heard that I had been selected for the vice-chancellor's award – I called everyone I knew. My dissertation was on Niger-Delta Conflict. That's the area I am from and I would like to build a career working for the government or a government agency in the region to really make the most of the skills I have learned during my time at Nottingham Trent University."

She was one of five students from the African nation to have their education sponsored entirely by the Rivers State Sustainability Development Agency, part of the state government.

The visitors from Nigeria who watched the graduation included the agency's executive director Mr Noble Pepple, the Rev Precious Omuku, the Honourable Joseph Poroma, the Honourable Ibiso Nwuche, Mr Godwin Poi, Mr Kingsley Uranta and Mrs Imah Adegoke.
Victoria Crane, former director of Nottingham Trent International College, attended the graduation as Betty's guest. The college prepares overseas students for study at university. Betty was joined by fellow graduates Auxwell Bank Ozuru (economics), Godstime Ugele (law), Esther Wahu (accounting), and Daniel Nlemogu (law). Daniel graduated with first class honours.

Four more Nigerian scholarship students – Thankgod Nnadi (business management), Pia Promise (computer engineering), Adibaal Ibo (business management) and Sotonye Davies (law) – will graduate later this year.

Sponsorship was provided by the Rivers state governor's special overseas scholarship programme, created to provide first-class education for students with disabilities from the south-western region of Nigeria.

Kanye West-Inspired "Kanye Quest 3030" Video Game Now Available

According to Kotaku.com, a video game version of Windy City rapper Kanye West will serve as the protagonist in a newly-released, Japanese role-playing game (RPG) titled "Kanye Quest 3030." Created by Phenix, "Kanye Quest 3030" is described as "a hip-hop-themed science-fiction 2D roleplaying game starring Kanye West" that's set in the year 3030.

The game, which is not actually endorsed by West, also features artists such as Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Lil B, Tupac, and the Notorious B.I.G. But unlike West, the other rappers featured in the game are clones who are controlled by a "god-like dictator."

"Kanye Quest 3030" is far from the first video game to incorporate a rapper or other musician. Beginning in 2003, Def Jam began to release a series of Hip Hop-heavy video games. The first, titled "Def Jam Vendetta" was a wrestling video game, which featured DMX, Joe Budden, Ludacris, and a handful of other artists.

Hip Hop has also been prominent in the soundtracks of various video games including "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" and "NBA 2K13."

The trailer for "Kanye Quest 3030" can be found below.

UPDATE: "Kanye Quest 3030" is now available for download on its creators' Tumblr page.

PRESS RELEASE. SLEEQ - THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER

SLEEQ LAUNCHES "THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER"
Nigeria's music scene today is populated with people trying to hit a goldmine. There seems to be no one who is passionate about making music simply for the joy of it. Everybody and their grandmother have hopped on the lyrical bandwagon. And that's exactly what Sleeq has jumped off with a refreshing new and melodious sound that puts shame to all the racket-in-the-attic that blare through sound speakers.
Come July 20th  2013 S2DB Entertainment will unveil what is expected to be its flagship tune. Something that should make the rainy season worth it for couples, young or old. "The General's Daughter" is a mellow synthesis of sound and effect as Sleeq soulfully weaves a tale of his dangerous entanglement with the daughter of a Nigerian Army General. You cannot help but follow his drift as he wraps his sexy silky voice around a purposeful and creatively produced beat that is sure to lead you to bliss. It is intelligence and charisma that define this singer.
Sleeq is an "Abuja boy" who has been in the music business since his undergraduate career where he managed to stay in sync with the trends of the time by keeping vigil at Tuface's Festac office in the middle of the last decade. The last time we met, we sat in an SUV in Wuse 2 and he talked to me about his music and his life and his passion: the things he holds dear. He talked about his brand of music called Legacy Music which he says is a different kind of music: something thoughtful but authentic.
There is an African proverb that says you can know how the day will end by first seeing how it starts and by the looks of things Sleeq is sure to pull off a coup when he overthrows the current crowd of potboilers who pretend to be singers. This man is going to be a General himself one day.

How Sweat Was Turned Into Drinking Water

A machine that takes sweat-laden clothes and turns the moisture into drinking water is in use in Sweden.

The device spins and heats the material to
remove the sweat, and then passes the
vapour through a special membrane
designed to only let water molecules get
through. Since its Monday launch, its creators say
more than 1,000 people have "drunk other's
sweat" in Gothenburg. They add the liquid is
cleaner than local tap water. The device was built for the United Nation's
child-focused charity Unicef to promote a
campaign highlighting the fact that 780
million people in the world lack access to
clean water. Moist cyclists The machine was designed and built by
engineer Andreas Hammar, known locally for
his appearances on TV tech show. He said the critical part of the sweat
machine was a new water purification
component developed by a company named
HVR in collaboration with Sweden's Royal
Institute of Technology. "It uses a technique called membrane
distillation," he told the BBC. "We use a substance that's a bit like Goretex
that only lets steam through but keeps
bacteria, salts, clothing fibres and other
substances out. "They have something similar on the
[International] Space Station to treat
astronaut's urine – but our machine was
cheaper to build. "The amount of water it produces depends
on how sweaty the person is – but one
person's T-shirt typically produces 10ml
[0.3oz], roughly a mouthful." The kit has been put on show at the Gothia
Cup – the world's largest international youth
football tournament. Mattias Ronge, chief executive of Stockholm-
based advertising agency Deportivo – which
organised the stunt – said the machine had
helped raise awareness for Unicef, but in
reality had its limitations. "People haven't produced as much sweat as
we hoped – right now the weather in
Gothenburg is lousy," he said. "So we've installed exercise bikes alongside
the machine and volunteers are cycling like
crazy. "Even so, the demand for sweat is greater
than the supply. And the machine will never
be mass produced – there are better
solutions out there such as water purifying
pills."  Gastin

Can Patience Jonathan Really Describe Amaechi As Her Son?

Apologies to Ms Toyin Lawani, who is set to marry a boy that is about 10 years her junior, but sincerely can First Lady Patience Jonathan comfortably claim that Governor Rotimi Amaechi is her son?

If Amaechi was a "bad" nigga back in the days in Port Harcourt, he could have ended up marrying a lady that is about 7 years older than him. And our First Lady is "just" 7 years older than Amaechi…

If a lady can get married to a "boy" she is 10 years older than and people are saying it's ok, why then should a woman describe a man she's just 7 years older than as "my son".

Or, could be it be that madam was joking when she said "Amaechi is my son"?

UNBELIEVABLE:Power Your Phone With URINE

Mobile phone owners could soon be able to give their batteries a boost with their own urine.

British scientists at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory have developed a way of using urine as a power source to generate electricity and claim to have created the world's first microbial fuel cells (MFC) powered mobile phone.

While many people might turn their noses up at the energy source, the researchers said that it is the 'ultimate waste product' and does not rely on the erratic nature of the wind or the sun.

The scientists shared their breakthrough in the Royal Society of Chemistry Journal of Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.

Dr. Ioannis Ieropoulos, an expert at harnessing power from unusual sources using microbial fuel cells at the University of West England, Bristol, which was also involved in the research, said the urine-powered phone is a 'world first'.

"No-one has harnessed power from urine so it's an exciting discovery. Using the ultimate waste product as a source of power to produce electricity is about as eco as it gets.

"One product that we can be sure of an unending supply is our own urine. By harnessing this power as urine passes through a cascade of MFCs, we have managed to charge a Samsung mobile phone."

He believes that the reliability of the fuel source is a big selling point. He added, "The beauty of this fuel source is that we are not relying on the erratic nature of the wind or the sun; we are actually re-using waste to create energy.

"So far the microbial fuel power stack that we have developed generates enough power to enable SMS messaging, web browsing and to make a brief phone call."

However, he said that making a long call on a mobile phone is far more power hungry.

"Making a call on a mobile phone takes up the most energy but we will get to the place where we can charge a battery for longer periods.

"The concept has been tested and it works – it's now for us to develop and refine the process so that we can develop MFCs to fully charge a battery."

Microbial fuel cells are energy converters that turn organic matter directly into electricity by utilising the metabolism of live micro-organisms.

Ieropoulos said, "Essentially, the electricity is a by-product of the microbes' natural life cycle, so the more they eat things like urine, the more energy they generate and for longer periods of time."

The electricity output of MFCs is relatively small and the researchers are currently only been able to store and accumulate low levels of energy into capacitors for short charge and discharge cycles.

However they claim that this is the first time that scientists have been able to directly charge the battery of a device such as a mobile phone and it should be seen as a significant breakthrough.

Open Letter To Bishop David Oyedepo Claiming Canaan Land Is Demonic

A recent article was been making it round on different blogs, the letter claims that the entire land mass of Canaan land is filled with different occultic symbols. Might be a mere coincidence, well you be the judge of that.
If you take a closer check via Google map and it was the exact replica of those symbols.
Here is the letter and the symbol representation:

Dear Bishop Oyedepo,

I am writing you this letter on behalf of all sane and upright Nigerians.
Kindly explain to us the meaning of these very scary, occult and demonic structures you have spotted our sacred land with.

What is the meaning of these buildings, dear esteemed Bishop?
Are they not a very bad omen that are responsible for bringing the wrath of God to our dear nation. We Nigerians are very spiritual people. We believe in curses, in taboos, in demons and in abominations. Indeed if you are in the Church business as you portray to be, you too understand these things. You understand the purity of life and land and what evil is. After-all it was you who slapped a poor girl who you castigated as being possessed by spirits.

So why have you put these many solid structures that are all types of funny things including the pentagram, structures bearing semblance to the Baphomet, goat head masonic god, 69, or 666, '$' sign, and all other things that since I received a broadcast with the news story, have made me quite uncomfortable and afraid. You do know the structures you built I presume, having a degree in architecture yourself.
So our airplanes fly over these things. Do you know the spiritual implication of this calamity you have constructed on our land? Is this not a reason for the woes of Nigeria?

PHOTOS: Nigeria’s Representative To BBA, Beverly Being “Fingered” By Angelo

After having so much to drink, Naija's representative Beverly and Mr, Dada (Angelo) retired to the room and were pictured on the bed with Angelo fingering Beverly. Beverly was so high that she was all over Angelo, if not for Bassey; something else would have happened.
The most annoying part of the whole bed stuff, Pokello and Elikem were both there watching the whole show.
What do you think about  Beverly now? Some are saying she is a disgrace to the country but how many of us can control ourselves under the influence of alcohol?

29 YR OLD LAGOS MAN IN COURT FOR RAPING A 48 YR OLD WOMAN

Twenty nine-year-old man, Adedeji Michael, has been arraigned before the Ebute-Meta Magistrate's Court in Lagos for allegedly raping a 48-year-old mother of six, Alice Essient.

The accused was said to have broken into the house of the victim in company with another accomplice, who is currently at large.

Both men had initially sought for the abode of an unidentified woman from Essient in front of her house at Railway Line, Otto in Ebute-Meta.

Immediately Essient went into her room, Michael and his partner were said to have broken into her house.

While his accomplice held her mouth, the accused allegedly tore her bra and panties and had carnal knowledge of her.

Essient's scream, however, attracted her neighbours who broke the door and apprehended Michael while he was pulling up his trousers.

His accomplice allegedly grabbed N10,000 under the victim's pillow before fleeing.

The police claimed that the accused, who was arraigned on  six counts of felony, assault, rape, stealing, also gave them false information about his name and address.

The charge sheet read in part, "That you, (Daniel) Adedeji Michael, m, and one other person at large on the 14th day of July, 2013 at about 1600hrs at Railway Line, Otto, Ebute-Meta in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire to commit felony, to wit rape and stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State Nigeria, 2011."

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and elected to be tried for the offences at the magistrate's court.

His defence counsel pleaded that he be granted bail in liberal terms.

The prosecutor, ASP Etim Nkankuk, told the court that the complainant was in court and she was asked to stand up for recognition.

The magistrate, Mrs. Aje Afunwa, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till October 2.

WOMAN BURNS 7 YEAR OLD SON, STEPSON'S HAND ON A STOVE [PICS]

A woman identified as Mrs Aminot Otun has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for roasting the right hand of her seven-year-old step-son, Awwal Otun.
Awwal's hand was allegedly roasted for adding drops of liquid disinfectant to his bath water.
According to Ngozi Ekwerike-Okoro, President, Child to Child Network, a Non-governmental Organisation, NGO, a distressed call from one of Otun's neighbours at 59, Suenu Street, Surulere, Lagos saved Awwal's life.
Awwal was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital at Gbaja where another drama ensued as the doctor on duty refused to treat or admit the boy despite pleas that the hospital was built purposely for mothers and children in the state.
Awwal was later taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment and he is currently at Juvenile Welfare Centre of Alakara Police Station.
According to his teachers, Awwal, a Primary One pupil, should not be allowed to go back to his step-mother because he always went back to school with bruises. Neighbours who pleaded anonymity said that had been the normal punishment for the boy's mistakes.

»NaijaRox-WICKEDNESS : Man sets pregnant lover ablaze (photo)

not many could have suspected that all was not well
between Emeka Agu, 28, and his pregnant girlfriend, Miss Bidemi
Akinsolufe. That night, disaster struck in their home in Ayobo area
of Lagos, as Emeka allegedly set his lover ablaze.
The reason? To prevent the lady from charming other men with her
beauty. Nearly a month after, Bidemi still writhes in pain at the
Gbagada General Hospital, even as Emeka awaits his date with the
law. The reporter met the badly burnt lady on her hospital bed and
she narrated what led to the sad incident.
"I started dating him last year but my boyfriend is very jealous.
Even whenever my sister called me, he would want to call back to be
sure it wasn't a man that called me. "He was working before and
had his own place but he later lost his job and had no place to stay. I
secured a mini-flat in Ayetoro and asked him to join me there.
We had been living together since then. "Recently, when I took in,
he asked me to stop working and I did. But he drinks a lot. He
spends his money on alcohol and I always told him that I was
worried that his liver might be destroyed. He doesn't trust me; he
thinks I date other men.
"He used to work in the night as a bouncer in a hotel. The day
before he set me on fire, his former boss had summoned him and I
thought maybe the man wanted to offer him a job. So, on the
morning of that day, Sunday, June 23, I called him to know if he had
gone to the man's place.
As we were speaking on the phone, he told me he was already high.
And I asked him why he should spend his money on alcohol when I
was hungry at home. "I was angry, so I went to report him to his
friend. His friend then called him and talked some sense into him.
But when he knew that I was with his friend, he became angry and
accused his friend of sleeping with me. He said he would suck my
blood for sleeping with his friend.
I was even explaining to him that I couldn't be sleeping around
with my pregnancy but he wasn't convinced. He began to call me
names, that I was a useless woman. He later said it was all right,
that he wasn't angry again.
So, I went back home. "When I got back home, one of my friends
told me that Emeka had reported me to her, saying I locked him
outside in the rain. So, when I got to our apartment, I begged him
and my friend also begged him. He said he was no longer angry but I
didn't know he still had plans to deal with me.
"After a while, he pretended as if he wanted to go to the toilet and
while walking past me, he suddenly gave me a terrible slap. Then he
began to beat me. In fact, I had never been so thoroughly beaten
since I was born.
He had only slapped me on two earlier occasions. That night, I was
yelling for help but I guessed people weren't hearing me outside. I
was crying and threatening to pack out of the apartment. "Then
he said he would destroy my beauty. But I didn't believe he would
do anything so devilish.
Then he went to the kitchen, brought out the stove and poured the
kerosene on me. He lit a match and threw it at me and I was
burning. I rushed to the kitchen to get water but he was pushing
the buckets of water away. I was yelling and crying.
Then after some time, he began to say to me: 'My babe, your face
is burnt, I'm sorry.' "I didn't even know that my face was
badly burnt. I initially thought my hands were the only parts
affected until much later when I saw my face in the mirror.
"When he realised the damage he had done, he began to beg me,
saying he would marry me. He said I should stay inside, that he
would go and get raw pap to apply on the burnt parts of my body.
But as he wanted to go out of the apartment, I followed him. He
said he wasn't running away, that he just wanted to get the pap
and get back. And I said okay, but I was following him.
He kept pushing me back but I insisted on following him out. Later,
one of our neighbours, a man, knocked on our door and asked what
was wrong with me. He replied that there was no problem but I
shouted that the man should come in to save my life.
I told the man that the door wasn't locked, that he should push it.
Eventually other neighbours came and pushed the door open and I
immediately ran outside so that everyone could see me. I think that
was when I passed out." After she lost consciousness, some of her
neighbours quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital from where
she was transferred to the Gbagada General Hospital. Meanwhile,
the neighbours also alerted the police in Ayobo, who came to arrest
Emeka.
Bidemi also told the reporter: "He told me it was the devil's
handiwork but I know God would repay him. I leave everything to
God. I have been hospitalised here now since then, and my people
have been spending money on me." "Initially, I thought no man
would want me any longer since he had destroyed my face. But my
people said no, that they wouldn't allow me near him again.
They said he should write an undertaking that he wouldn't come
after me but I've been told that, even with an undertaking, he
might still try to harm me. I will have the baby but he must never
ask for my child. I want him to face the music. I want justice to be
done."
Bidemi's mother, Mrs. Nike Adeyemi, also spoke with the reporter.
Said she: "Some good neighbours took my daughter to a nearby
hospital and asked her boyfriend to stay with her there. They then
secretly invited policemen to arrest him. We are already in court."
"I have spent all I have to treat my daughter.
None of Emeka's people has paid a dime out of the heavy hospital
bills. We have spent over N200, 000 now and we are still spending.
The doctor said we would need, at least, N500, 000 for
comprehensive treatment for my daughter because her face and
hands have been badly burnt.
You can see the wounds are still looking fresh even after over three
weeks. I don't even have any money for her treatment any more.
I'm so fed up. One of Emeka's sisters came to me with policemen
from Ikoyi. She offered to pay me N40, 000 so that the boy would be
released. I refused to collect the money because I said it was even
an insult for her to offer that little amount when we were being
asked to bring N500, 000.
"I don't even know where to turn to for help. Please, help me
beg compassionate Nigerians to come to our aid. I don't want my
daughter to die. I think we will also have to do something about her
pregnancy because I don't ever want her to have anything to do
with that boy any longer."
The reporter spoke with Emeka's sister, who allegedly offered
N40, 000 to Bidemi's family. Her words: "I don't know what to
do again. I didn't know when Emeka and Bidemi started their
friendship.
I didn't send him to set the girl ablaze. I'm even tired of
everything. I am a widow myself and I don't have money. I have
even used the N40, 000 that I offered her to take care of some other
issues. I'm tired of the whole issue and I don't know what to
do."

A Woman Who Delivers a monkey-like baby in Kaduna (Viewer Discretion)

A woman (names withheld) gave birth to a strange looking child on Monday at the General hospital
Kagarko, Kagarko local government, after several hours of labour. Reports say the woman, an indigene of SabonIceh village, gave birth to a baby that looked more like a monkey with unusual ears and feet. One of the nurses who attended to the woman said, "The pregnant woman was rushed to the hospital at about 7:30 am, Monday. And we immediately took her into the labour room."

"The woman came in through the out-patient department (OPD) after seeing the doctor on call and I decided to rupture her because the cervix was fully dilated. After I ruptured her, fluid measuring about 26 litres gushed out after which she started bleeding. All this time, the baby was still in the womb." "When the bleeding persisted, I sent for the medical director and when she came, we went into the theatre to operate on the woman. In the process, the baby started coming out with the legs. So, the medical director asked me to stop and allow her to deliver the baby by herself.

Speaking further, the nurse said, "She delivered the baby breech and when it came out, we discovered that it was an abnormal baby. It was half human and half animal. We lost the baby shortly after delivery. The nurse who spoke on condition of anonymity said the baby weighed four kilograms adding that the mother of the baby is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. "She lost a lot of blood so we have to give her blood," she said.

» 16-Year Old Canadian-Nigerian Girl Makes Beat For Jay-Z’s New Album 16-Year

Ebony Oshunrinde, a 16-year old Canadian-Nigerian girl, known as WondaGurl, has been listed in the credits for Jay-Zs new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Ebony, who resides in Brampton, southern Ontario, was credited for the track 'Crown'.

"It's a really good feeling. I want to show young people that they can do it. Anybody can be successful. It doesn't matter where you're from" the elated beat maker expressed her delight on being featured by one of the greatest rapper in the world.

The teenage self-taught producer is reported to have started making her own beats after watching a video showing Jay-Z and mega producer Timbaland working in the studio together on the album.

"It inspired me and I wanted to do the exact same thing that he did," she said.

At age 9, WondaGurl downloaded music software and taught herself how to use it from watching YouTube videos, amazed by the idea of creating something from scratch.

She came up with her name, WondaGurl, by swapping around the name of one of her favourite Canadian producers.

A year ago, after winning Toronto's Battle of the Beat Makers competition at only 15, Oshunrinde got serious about her music. She signed on with Black Box, the same label as Classified, and started working in a studio.

The beat that landed on Jay-Z's album began with a reggae song. Oshunrinde sampled the music and added her own twist using computer software.

"It has a lot of bass and a lot of bounce," she explained.

She worked on her beat once and sent it to Travis Scott, a young rapper and producer from Houston who met Oshunrinde last year. He happened to be working in the studio with Jay-Z when she sent him her beat.

A few days later, Oshunrinde was at home with her brother and sister when her phone buzzed.

"He texted me and said, 'I'm about to change your life," Oshunrinde said.

When Scott told her that her cut made it on to Jay-Z's album, she thought it was a joke.

"Usually that doesn't really happen to 16-year-olds," the teen said.

And when she told her mother the good news, she cried.

Oshunrinde has never met Jay-Z and, like everyone else, had to wait for the digital release on July 4 to hear "Crown."

She just got her passport last year, and hopes she'll meet the rap mogul when she travels to the USA soon.

#Big Brother Africa-Angelo's in a flirty mood today. He says he wants to "taste Selly's prawns"

Task: It's a chess thing

As soon as morning came, the Diamonds headed to the garden to kick off the Chess Task Big Brother gave them yesterday.

Today, it was an all-out battle of the mind between Sulu and Selly. On hand with a couple of pointers for the sexy Ghanaian was South Africa's Angelo.

At first, confident Sulu went at it alone, but decided to recruit Oneal when the going got tough. Angelo couldn't resist flirting with Selly as the game of chess reached its climax. "I wouldn't mind tasting your prawns", he said, sending Selly into fits of laughter. Ok then Angelo!

The Diamonds on the other hand seemed more concerned with doing their laundry, than putting in work. The gang put off their chess game for a little later this afternoon.

With a 100 percent Wager at stake, will they do enough to impress Big Brother? After all, we all know how 'less than stellar' their Task Presentation track record has been.

Thinking on it

Meet Rev Chris Okotie's rumoured new girlfriend

said rumoured o, nothing has been confirmed yet, but my sources swear Pastor Chris Okotie has found love again in Delphine Onyii Okoronkwo. I don't know what she does for a living but she's quite popular in the Lagos social scene. According to reports, she has been dating the House Hold of God head pastor for at least three months, though his people claim they are just friends.
Delphine, who is in her late 20's, recently launched a brand new Kia Carens car said to be worth over N8million and people are saying Pastor Okotie bought the car for her. Delphine doesn't attend Chris Okotie's church, she attends pastor Tony Rapu's This Present House church, but visits her rumoured new squeeze at his Opebi, Ikeja home after church service on Sundays.
Rev Okotie, who has vowed never to remarry after ending his 4-year marriage to Stephanie Henshaw in June 2012, was earlier this year linked to another lady called Naomi Hoffmanthough his camp denied the affair.

I know Pastor Okotie's publicist reads this blog...so send us a statement denying this one too...:-). See more photos of beautiful Delphine after the cut...

Joke:- Akpos & St.Peters in Heaven - #Very Funny

kpos died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.

He asked, 'Why all the clocks?'

St. Peter answered, Those are Lie- Clocks. Everyone who has ever been on earth has a Lie- Clock. Every time you lie, the hands on your clock move.

Oh, said akpos. 'Whose clock is that?'

'That's Mother Teresas', replied St.Peter. 'The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.'

'Incredible', said akpos. 'And whose clock is that one? St. Peter responded, 'That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved Twice, telling us that Abraham told only two lies in his entire life.'

'Where's our politician's clock?' asked akpos.

St Peter replied, they are in the office. We're using them as ceiling fans, bcos they keep running even faster than the others.

Nawa ooooPastor Says, My Wife Still Sees Her Ex »

An Orile-Agege Customary Court in Lagos, yesterday, dissolved the 20-year-old marriage of a pastor, who had accused his wife of infidelity and threat to his life.

Pastor Sunday Owonikoko, 51, had filed a petition at the court on May 27, saying he could no longer continue with his wife, Bolajoko, 47.
Ruling in the case, court president, Mr Joseph Adewusi, said the marriage has broken down irretrievably.

His words: "Starting from today, you cease to be addressed as husband and wife; you shall go your separate ways and maintain the peace.

"The custody of the under-aged among the children is referred to Ikeja Family Court for final decision, but in the interim, the children should remain with the petitioner.

"The petitioner, Pastor Sunday Owonikoko, should pay a compensation fee of N25,000 to the defendant and also secure accommodation for her."

My wife still sees her ex
According to reports the pastor, who lives at 1, Alowole St., Papa Ashafa, Orile-Agege, had told the court that his wife was still seeing her ex-lovers.

"My wife once travelled to Ghana to meet one of her concubines. She did family planning without my consent and she goes out at will.

"She was suspended from the church for six months because she fought all ministers in the church. She then established her church, she fought all the members of the church, and they all left."

The father of four children, aged between 19 years and 11 years, had also told the court that his wife threatened to destroy him and the church.

"I want the court to dissolve the union and grant me custody of my children," he had said.

Bolajoko, an evangelist, had, however, denied the allegations in her response.

My husband is adulterous
She said: "My husband is adulterous. He has slept with almost all the sisters in the church. A mother of seven is presently living with him and he has made the woman an evangelist."

Bolajoko told the court that her husband had "lost his mind" since he ate vegetable soup in the house of one of the sisters in the church. I don't love him anymore, I want a divorce."
