OBASANJO DUMPS POLITICS FOR EVANGELISM, ORGANIZES NATIONWIDE CRUSADES
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo may dump politics for evangelism soon, DailyPost has learnt.
The Ota farmer, we gathered has joined other clerics in organising nationwide crusades.
The reason, it was learnt may no be unconnected to the fact that President Jonathan could not allow him to dictate how he wanted Nigeria to be governed.
In protest, Obasanjo was said to have dumped politics for evangelism, having been trained at the National Open University.
He was said to have teamed up with a royal father from his home town, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, Karounwi III, and the world-renowned evangelist, Kayode Williams whose ministry is Bishop Kayode Williams World Outreach, to hold crusades nationwide.
Sources disclosed that Obasanjo, Oba Tejuoso and Kayode Williams, an ex armed robber who repented while in the Sokoto prison, have begun a five-day crusade in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, yesterday.
Confirming the new status of Obasanjo, a cleric who is also an indigene of Ogbomoso, Pastor Kayode Alabi, said, "Yes, it is true that former President, Obasanjo, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and Bishop Kayode Williams are coming to Ogbomoso for a five-day crusade beginning from today (yesterday).
The whole city is agog for the programme tagged ''Healing Ogbomoso Land Gospel Crusade'' holding at the Beulah Baptist Convention Ground, Ogbomoso. The programme is being hosted by Ogbomoso Christian Ministers' Fellowship."
According to him, Obasanjo may have resolved to spend the remaining years of his life serving God who brought him out of prison and made him president for eight years. He said: "Baba Obasanjo has many reasons for returning to God to serve him. You would recall how Gen. Abacha arrested him with others, sentenced him to death for alleged involvement in a phantom coup; he was set free after spending three years, three months and three days in prison.
He was elected president and served for eight years and today he has many reasons to serve the same God. Don't forget that he graduated as an evangelist from the National Open University. God could use anyone who is ready and willing to serve him."

I watched in sheer horror and disgust as the MEDIA and ARTISTES made a MEAL out of his STORY...Like vultures I watched them circle over a DYING HUMAN BEING. "Friends" and so called "MEDIA PARTNERS" took to social network platforms to GENERATE STORIES and create various hash tags to CELEBRATE
A STORY at the expense of the LIFE of a HUMAN BEING...
1, How many of these so called friends bothered to CALL HIS PHONE?
2, How many that know him well cared enough to VISIT HIM at HOME?
3, How many of these SOCIAL TOWN CRIERS bothered to visit him at the HOSPITAL?
This is what I know though...
1, The minute he dies YOU will be the first to say WE lost a RARE GEM.
2, The minute he dies YOU will be the first to say how much GOOD he did for YOU.
3, The minute he dies YOU will be the first to POSE for PICTURES over his LIFE-LESS BODY.
4, The minute he dies YOU will be the first to SHED CROCODILE TEARS and ROLL ON THE FLOOR and TEAR YOUR CLOTHES.
#GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!...
His name? Answer: OJB JEZREEL.
1, He has KIDNEY ISSUES.
2, He has to have 2 DIALYSIS TREATMENTS WEEKLY at LASUTH so feel free to go and ask HOW MUCH IT COSTS!
3, His HOME address has NOT CHANGED...It is still 4 GBAJA STREET SURULERE.
4, His PHONE NUMBERS are STILL THE SAME.
5, He NEEDS to have a KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.
6, A donor has been found.
7, The procedure will cost $100,000.
8, HE IS STILL ALIVE.
9, YOU CAN HELP HIM.
10, YOU CAN CHOOSE NOT TO.
I know what you may be thinking...HOW DOES THIS CONCERN ME?...WHAT DID HE DO FOR ME? WHY CAN'T COSON and OTHER MUSICAL SOCIETIES COME TO HIS RESCUE AFTERALL HE IS A MUSICIAN?...And to that I say this: It doesn't concern you really and you are absolutely right he has done nothing for you but, remember this....IT COULD BE YOU!
You can make a difference in HIS LIFE TODAY...He NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT while he LIVES your efforts will be USELESS when HE IS GONE!

Former covenant University VC, Aize Obayan suspended for altering students results, including her daughters
Professor Aize Obayan, a former Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota has been suspended from her position as director of the Education Commission of the Winners Chapel by the church's general overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo. Ms. Obayan was suspended for reportedly altering examination results for several students in the department of Mass Communications.
Among the students who benefited from the former VC's grade alteration was Ms. Obayan's own daughter. The former VC was accused of perpetrating the academic fraud during her tenure. The former VC's daughter graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in Mass Communication and is currently doing her National Youth Service Corps service. A source at the university revealed that Ms. Obayan inflated all of her daughter's scores, otherwise the young woman would have earned a Third Class degree. Our source added that the former VC had re-introduced make-up examination without proper authorization – and after the university's Senate had abolished the option. "She introduced make-up exam to enable her daughter [to] retake the course she failed," said a source.Recently, a Dr. Omojola, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, petitioned the Chancellor of the University after his first protest was suppressed by the then VC.
In his protest, Mr. Omojola alleged that Nnamdi Ekeanyanwu, the acting Head of Department of Mass Communication, had engaged in extensive alteration of students' examination results. The petition led to Mr. Ekeanyanwu's removal as Head of Department. Dr. Stanley Ngoa replaced him, but spent only the2011-2012 session at the helm, before the former VC reappointed Dr. Ekeanyawu to return as departmental head.
Our source indicated that, with Dr. Ekeanyanwu's return, the fraudulent practice of grade alteration worsened in the Mass Communication Department and across other departments of the university, including Chemistry where one student's score was raised to 45% from 5 %, an outright failure. Associate Professor Taiwo Abioye, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, headed a panel appointed by the Chancellor, Professor C.K. Ayo, to investigate the case. Dr. Ekeanyanwu was summoned by the panel to defend himself on charges of altering examination scores of students, including Miss Obayan, for monetary benefits. He not only accepted his guilt for all the charges, but also confessed that he acted in collusion with the former VC, Professor Obayan.Ms. Obayan was also invited to appear before the Abioye panel, but she reportedly offered no defense.Pastor Faith Oyedepo, wife of Bishop Oyedepo, has taken over the duties of Ms. Obayan at the church's secretariat.
SaharaReporters learned that plans were underway to return Dr. Daniel Rotimi to the Education Commission. Mr. Rotimi was a one-time registrar of the University. SaharaReporters learned that Mr. Rotimi, who is a pastor, last year married a second wife (a former student at Covenant University) in his quest for a male child. He and his first wife had only girls. A lecturer at Covenant University told SaharaReporters that he wondered whether the university could really realize its much touted claim of raising a new generation of African leaders when top officials at the school offer examination grades for sale?
Big Brother Africa Diary: “I regret saving Pokello” – Bassey Tue, 18 Jun 2013
"I think I made a mistake of who I saved and who I swapped," he fessed up to Biggie. According to the Sierra Leonean if he had a chance to have a do over then he would he opt to save Natasha instead because of her heartache about being Nominated for the third time in a row.
He also shared that he would not have chosen to put Oneal on the chopping block. "He is a good guy and he is serious when Tasks need to be done," he said of the Tswana man. "I can't look him in the eye," he added.
Big Brother wanted to know how Bassey feels his decision will affect the atmosphere in the Ruby House when his choice is revealed on Sunday. "They will hate me," he insisted looking frustrated. Biggie tried to console the young model by telling him to remember that this is a game.

More Nigerian girls pose nude to trend on Twitter
One of the objectives ladies who engage in this act seek to achieve is to break into trending topics on the social service and ultimately build a huge Twitter following and gain cheap popularity.
Ladies who have made this act a hobby employ hashtags to string together these obscene pictures to get them easily noticeable by other Twitter users. For instance, some of them use hashtags such as #boobsmonday, #boobsfriday and post their nude photographs.
Other girls equally interested are lured into posting their own nude pictures on the social site by employing the use of the hashtags for the day — such as #boobstuesday on a Tuesday, which make their nude pictures travel fast and go viral.
One of the typical Twitter female users of the social network who engage in this act is one with the name, Pretty Osaro. Osaro posted three nude pictures of herself on May 15, each showing her in different positions. On her handle she says, ''I wanna be famous, doesn't matter how many guys…''
She went on to lament that her previous Twitter account was suspended and lashed out at those who reported her via the Twitter Help Center for posting offensive contents. ''My previous account was suspended, if you don't like what I do kindly unfollow or f..k out of my timeline,'' she says.
In the usual manner in which desperate girls seeking fame on social media do, Osaro has at one time or the other reached out to celebrities who make use of Twitter to retweet her to the hundreds of thousands of their fans.
The day Osaro posted her nude pictures on the social service, she tweeted the same picture to Nigerian music artistes — Wizkid and Davido with — a view to getting them retweet the pictures.
She has also sought the help of American socialite and TV personality, Kim Kardashian who has over 17 million Twitter followers. Tweeting at Kardashian, she says, "Am I not hotter than @Kimkardashian? @KimKardashian, I love you so much please retweet me.''
Other Twitter users with the names Bayelsa Queen and Ha Royal Sexcellency regularly trend on Twitter, posting their nude pictures. Besides, there is a nude picture being credited to one Adefope Temilola, which has been circulating on Twitter for over two months.
A new media enthusiast, Tunji Lardner, describes the development as a "really bad behaviour'', adding that typical youthful aspirations are now being amplified globally by social media. He adds that with the current level of under-development in the country, Nigerian youths — both male and female, should redirect their youthful vigour to hold political leaders accountable for their misdeeds with the new media technologies.
He says, "These are invariably young and immature people grappling with the need for popularity and acclaim from their peers. This is just another manifestation of the ongoing breakdown of our social order and the loss of parental control and oversight of our digital children with analog parents.''
Lardner who is the Executive Director, West Africa NGO Network, warns that those engaged in the act risk the negative consequences and urges them to move towards changing the content and quality of their online discourse.
He says, "Everything lives forever on the Internet. Those pictures posted will be archived and someday retrieved, and can most certainly come back to haunt you, perhaps when you are looking for a job or even when you want to get married.''
"Those involved can start by changing the quality and contents of their online discourse. Use these powerful technologies to interrogate the political system, ask the tough questions, find the tough answers and hold their leaders accountable for their misdeeds.''
Speaking on the ways of stemming the tide in the country, he observes that it is difficult to legislate morality on a global and virtual platform like the Internet. According to him, the responsibility for the moral tone and content of youth participation in social media still rests with society at large.
"Their engagement on these platforms and the quality of their discourse is a direct reflection of the society's prevailing norms. But there should be an understood code of conduct that is widely disseminated, spelling out the pitfalls of the dark side of social media.
"Perhaps the traditional media can help evolve this standard, and there is no need to reinvent the wheel. There is a considerable body of work that deal with youth and the use of social media,'' he adds.

Fatai Rolling Dollar Is Dead
Highlife music veteran, Fatai Rolling Dollar is dead at 85. The octogenarian passed on this morning at Ahmadiyya Hospital in Abule Egba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria. He was rushed to the hospital by his wife about a week ago.
Kunle Tejuosho, whose label, Jazzhole Records, brought out 'Won Kere Si Number Wa' among other albums, confirmed his death. He said the deceased came back from America some weeks ago where he had gone for shows for about three weeks.
Tejuosho in his tribute, said: "Baba was a great Musician. He lived a life of a musician. He was always happy to perform. May be he took too much on.
"He was a good guy. He enjoyed his life. He had a second chance which he used very well.
"He would be missed because he brought the past alive to the present. He re-lived the music of the 50s. He was a great music historian and a great music custodian."
Yomi Opakunle, his former manager, also confirmed the death. He however said the deceased may be buried today.
Rolling Dollar was known for his verve and dexterity on the guitar. His zest for life and energy, even in old age, was also a marvel to all who beheld him while performing.
He later got a higher lift through Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while as Lagos State governor.
The late musician was given a house in one of the low cost housing estates in New Oko Oba, Lagos.
Juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey was among those trained by the late musician.
As a pioneer Juju music player, Rolling Dollar clarified in an interview how juju music derived its name.
"It was derived from the tambourine which is one of the key instruments used to play it. When they play it on the street they would shout 'Ju so ke'. They would then throw the tambourine up and shake it. … shukushuku. That was how juju got its name and not from bad medicine and all that. Even though in Saro land the word was taken to mean bad medicine. But here in Lagos our juju meant music. In juju then, we had the guitar, agidigbo, samba, sekere and at times we used the bottle to give us that clave sound. In fact, white people invented the clave from our bottle sound. That is where they got the idea for it," he said.
He was born on 22 July, 1926, in Ede, Osun State. He is survived by wives and many children.

Read; Touching suicide note left by Bollywood actress, Jiah Khan
Read Jiah Khan's letter to her boyfriend Suraj (Actor Aditya Pancholi's son) before death
'I don't know how to say this to you but I might as well now as I have nothing to lose. I've already lost everything. If you're reading this I might have already left or about to leave. I am broken inside. You may not have known this but you affected me deeply to a point where I lost myself in loving you. Yet you tortured me everyday. These days I see no light I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside. I've never given so much of myself to someone or cared so much. You returned my love with cheating and lies. It didn't matter how many gifts I gave you or how beautiful I looked for you. I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely the pain you have caused me everyday has destroyed every bit of me, destroyed my soul. I can't eat or sleep or think or function. I am running away from everything. The career is not even worth it anymore. When I first met you I was driven, ambitious and disciplined. Then I fell for you, a love I thought would bring out the best in me. I don't know why destiny brought us together. After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn't deserve this. I didn't see any love or commitment from you. I just became increasingly scared that you would hurt me mentally or physically. Your life was about partying and women. Mine was you and my work. If I stay here I will crave you and miss you. So I am kissing my 10-year career and dreams goodbye.
I never told you but I received a message about you. About you cheating on me. I chose to ignore it, decided to trust you. You embarrassed me. I never went out, I never went with anyone else. I am a loyal person. I never met anyone with Karthik I just wanted you to feel how you make me feel constantly. No other woman will give you as much as I did or love you as much as I did. I can write that in my blood. Things were looking up for me here, but is it worth it when you constantly feel the pain of heartbreak when the person you love wants to abuse you or threatens to hit you or cheats on you telling other girls they are beautiful or throws you out of their house when you have no where to go and you've come to them out of love or. when they lie to your face or they make you chase after them in their car. Or disrespects their family. You never even met my sister. I bought your sister presents. You tore my soul. I have no reason to breathe anymore.
All I wanted was love. I did everything for you. I was working for us. But you were never my partner. My future is destroyed my happiness snatched away from me. I always wished the best for you, was ready to invest what little money I had in your betterment. You never appreciated my love, Kicked me in the face. I have no confidence or self esteem left, whatever talent whatever ambition you took it all away. You destroyed my life. It hurt me so much that I waited for you for ten days and you didn't bother buying me something. The Goa trip was my birthday present but even after you cheated I still spent on you. I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply. You destroyed my Christmas and my birthday dinner when I came back. When I tried my hardest to make your birthday special. You chose to be away from me on Valentines Day. You promised me once we made it to one year we would get engaged. All you want in life is partying, your women and your selfish motives.
All I wanted was you and my happiness you took both away from me. I spent money on you selflessly you would throw in my face. When I would cry for you. I have nothing left in this world to live for after this. I wish you had loved me like I loved you. I dreamt of our future. I dreamt of our success. I leave this place with nothing but broken dreams and empty promises. All I want now is to go to sleep and never wake up again. I am nothing. I had everything. I felt so alone even while with you. You made me feel alone and vulnerable. I am so much more than this'.
Proclaim June 12 Unity Day –Fasehun
He said this at a press conference held in Lagos on Tuesday to remember the symbol of June 12 struggle the late MKO Abiola and his wife, Kudirat.
Fasehun, who is also Chairman, Unity Party of Nigeria, said, "Our minds today go to the man who singularly became the symbol of the June 12 struggle, Bashorun M.K.O. Abiola, and his wife, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.
"From the commanding heights of business and economy that he dominated like a colossus, Abiola joined Third Republic politics, to do with government resources what he had done personally with his personal funds, a mission to salvage Nigerians from poverty, ignorance and disease. He won the presidential election of June 12, 1993, the country's freest and fairest polls. But Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.) put that victory in the grave.
"As the Federal Government has declared May 29 as Democracy Day, it must proclaim June 12 as Unity Day. June 12 should be Unity Day because on that day, all the constituent units of Nigeria spoke with near-unanimity and elected Abiola as their President. June 12 is the truest mark of Nigeria's unity and we cannot afford to lose its significance."
He said June 12 gave birth to May 29, stressing that without the concerted struggle of pro-democrats for the actualisation of June 12, Babangida would have converted to civilian President, so would late Gen. Sani Abacha.
He said if those two generals had succeeded in perpetuating themselves in office, it would have led to the extension of Military rule but the intensity and internationalizing of the June 12 struggle by democratic elements finally culminated in the termination of Military rule on May 29, 1999.
Fasheun therefore urged President Jonathan to immediately work out a comprehensive compensation plan for Nigerians who died in the struggle for democracy.
He also demanded that government should expand the scope of the current compensation plan to include victims of June 12.
The O'odua leader restated the call for the convening of Sovereign National Conference, saying that it was key to the nation's socio-economic development.
Photo: Nine-month-old baby dies in Lagos building collapse
A nine-month-old baby died while three others sustained injuries after a three-storey building collapsed on Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the building, located on 353 Agege Motor Road, Challenge Bus Stop, collapsed around 3pm on Tuesday. The baby’s parents were among the injured.
According to rescue officials, most of the occupants of the residential building were not at home when the incident occurred.
The building was said to have been built as a conventional apartment but two stories were added to it which weakened its foundation.
A police source at the scene said, “The building was built like ‘Face me I face you’ (single rooms apartment) behind a four-storey building in the same compound but the landlord added two floors which weakened its foundation.
“The building came crashing around 3pm and we all rushed there to rescue people. Three people were saved and have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, a baby of about nine months was found buried under the rubble.”
It was learnt that sympathisers were able to salvage some properties even before the arrival of the rescue officials.
The incident expectedly worsened the usual heavy traffic in the area.
The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Razaq Fadipe, told our correspondent that rescue efforts had ended.
He said, “We received a distress call at our station at Isolo that there was a building collapse and we rushed down to the scene. Three people were rushed to hospital while a baby of about nine months was found dead.
“Rescue operations continued until no other person was found under the rubble.”
It was learnt that state officials had sealed off and marked the building next to the collapsed one for demolition.
According to state officials at the scene, the building had earlier been identified as a distressed. He said that some of its occupants had vacated while some ignored the warning and stayed behind.
When contacted on the telephone, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Damasus Ozoani, said, “The incident occurred during the rain. The Divisional Police Officer, Mushin, received a distress call and mobilised his men to the scene.
“Four people were rescued, including a baby but on getting to the hospital, the baby gave up the ghost.”

See Where Nigeria Ranks Among Other Countries In Global Competitiveness
He said it was disheartening to note that with more than 100 Research and Education Networks (RENs) globally, Nigeria had yet to commission a Research and Education Network “and ranks 112 in terms of network readiness behind smaller African countries’’.
“Many countries that are not as endowed as Nigeria or have been grappling with more internal challenges have thriving RENs.
“Examples include Sudan, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Uganda, Somalia, etc, etc,’’ Okojie said.
He said the countries were sharing huge research data, pooled bandwidth, as well as video, audio and data communication on their RENs.
The NUC executive secretary said the countries had also benefited from collaborations with other countries through international leased lines on submarine cables.
“That is why we should see our population size, geographical spread and diversity in other respects as basis for the utilisation of innovative approaches to solving our challenges.’’
He listed the challenges to include access, availability and quality of education “without which we cannot guarantee the attainment of Vision 20: 2020, not to talk of transforming the economy.
Okojie said the NUC would continue to make efforts toward ensuring the development of education in the country, hence its support for the establishment of a REN.
In her address, the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, said a broadband inter connectivity and Internet access for Nigerian research institutions would create a new operating environment and impact positively on the attitudes of both teachers and learners.
“Consequently, this will raise the performance levels of learners and create the needed foundation for initialising science and technology innovation necessary for driving Nigeria’s development.’’
Rufa’i expressed optimism that the NgREN would put the country firmly on the path to producing quality and relevant research for accelerated development.
She said the NUC was expected to put in place a management team and a secretariat for the running of NgREN, while the ministry would be responsible for payment of entitlements and mobilisation of funds.
Also speaking, Prof. Lawan Bichi, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, Delta, said the establishment of NgREN was coming at a time when cyber security had become a global issue that require urgent attention by stakeholders.
Bichi said the implementation of an effective REN would help in addressing challenges in the university system such as the existence of more than 17,000 e-journals in NUC’s e-library that were being under utilised.
“We have rich material resources that never get online,’’ he added.
'West Was My Slave Name, Yeezus Is My God Name' - Kanye West Talks About Equating Himself To Jesus
Kanye West debuted "Yeezus," his sixth studio album, to a crowd of critics, fans and celebrities on Monday night at an event equal parts listening party and public art exhibition.
The festivities took place at Manhattan's Milk Studios, but rather than following the countless PR and fashion events that Milk has hosted before, West instead chose the Meatpacking District building's loading dock. Attendees were let in one by one, a slow process that would have led one to believe that only a select few were being given the privilege of the record. That was not the case: The venue was open to the street, so anyone within earshot could hear the album which had hitherto been shrouded in secrecy, and anyone within eyesight could see the basic video imagery that went along with the audio.
That's in keeping with West's public -- and global -- debut of "New Slaves," but there's more to the theme than a simple stunt. Though the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, Theophilus London, Timbaland and Q-Tip stopped by, West seemed most pleased to see that his work had the potential to be heard by passersby. Long after Jay-Z and Beyonce had stopped their all-out, hands-in-the-air dance-along to the vibrant album, West became excited when a city bus drove by and grabbed the microphone to remark on the fact that the event was "out here in the middle of New York City blasting music and nobody is shutting us down."
West also put one matter of confusion to rest: "I want to explain something about the album title. Simply put, 'West' was my slave name and 'Yeezus' is my god name."
By this point, near the end of the second spin of the album, West was decidedly free-spirited, dancing and shaking hands with fans. It was easily his happiest public appearance in months, a period during which bloggers noted West's perma-scowl. At the start of the night, West seemed more antsy, rattling off a series of somewhat curious justifications, saying he didn't release singles because he didn't enjoy seeing his work on YouTube next to "related artists" ("When you buy a Louis-Vuitton bag..."), reminding fans that his father was in the Black Panthers and letting the crowd know that didn't hear Joy Division's music when he was growing up. It made sense at the time, but it was certainly a stream-of-consciousness diatribe.
"I had to learn about giving, this whole album is about giving -- this whole process is about giving ... no f--ks at all," West said after memorably explaining his new outlook as such: "I have a new strategy, it's called 'no strategy.' I have a plan to sell more music it's called 'make better music.'"
All in all, it was a triumphant night for West, who made sure to give every member of his team a shout-out and reminded the audience to surround themselves with the best. "If I'm standing next to someone, that means they're smarter than me," he said, shirt soaked with sweat, before leaving a bit past midnight. "If I'm standing next to someone, that means they're better at something than I am."

Photos: A Nigerian Woman To Become First Black Marchioness In UK
Emma McQuiston will make history when she becomes the first black Marchioness in Britain after her wedding to the future Marquess of Bath at the family seat of Longleat.
But she claims her relationship with the aristocrat has caused upset among the British elite because of her ethnicity and background.
A source told the Daily Express: 'It was an intimate ceremony. Longleat is considered one of the foremost and widely respected traditional British estates in the country.
'With the backdrop of the safari park, estate and house, it was quite special.
'Many people have celebrated that she will be the first black marchioness in the UK, which was widely praised as "about time too".'
The 80-year-old Marquess – wearing mustard chinos and a green velvet jacket – instead went to a wedding in Hampshire yesterday morning, accompanied by his wife, Ceawlin's mother.Lady Bath, who splits her time between Longleat and Paris, is thought to disapprove of Miss McQuiston, an aspiring celebrity chef.
‘She has asked her son to call it off,’ a friend of the family said. ‘She seems to think Emma isn’t good enough for him. Emma’s a lovely girl and is understandably hurt by this, as is her family. But Ceawlin loves Emma and won’t be swayed.’
Photo: See The Woman Who Crushed Her Ex-Boyfriend To Death With Her Car
A woman has been charged with murder after police said she ran down her ex-boyfriend with her car and crushed him against a cinder-block garage wall.
Cherelle Baldwin of Connecticut was arraigned on a murder charge in state court in the death of 24-year-old Jeffrey Brown, the father of her toddler son. Baldwin, 21, was detained on $1 million bail. She was arrested Monday after a three-week investigation.
Baldwin's relatives defended her actions Tuesday, saying Brown choked her with a belt and she drove at him May 18 to try to save her life. Baldwin and Brown had a history of domestic violence and Baldwin, Baldwin's cousin said.
Brown's family denied that he tried to choke her.
"My son never threatened to kill her," said Jeffrey Hines, the victim's father. "She took my only son away from me."
Baldwin's car traveled 100 feet before striking Brown, apparently accelerating the entire time and with no signs of braking, police said. The impact pushed the wall back more than 10 inches, police spokesman William Kaempffer told the Connecticut Post.
"Murder was the appropriate charge," he told WFSB.
Brown was pinned between the car and wall when police and firefighters arrived. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, police said. Baldwin suffered a leg injury when the car hit Brown and the wall, police said.
Police Chief Joseph Gaudett Jr. said it took a few weeks for authorities to determine that criminal charges were warranted.
"Work by the crime scene unit and accident investigators was key to getting to the truth," Gaudett said in a statement.
Police said they are treating the case as a domestic homicide
I am Scared To Tell My Fiance Of All The Abortions I Had In The Past
When we met, we told each other our pasts. Unknown to him, I did not tell him all – I left out my deepest secrets, the series of abortions I had go through right from my college days.
I feel insecure with him as he sees abortion as a disgusting act and he even talks about the way he condemned his friend’s girlfriend that went through the process recently. Now, I am in a dilemma…. I don’t want to lose him, I don’t want to tell him, but I feel uneasy with him because I am keeping him in the dark.
What should I do?

8 Ways To Make Your Blackberry Battery Last Longer
There’s no way smartphones can match up with feature phones in this regard. Even the best batteries don’t have enough reserves to power big, bright screens, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G.
However, by making a few changes to your phone’s settings (and maybe even changing the way you use your phone a little) you should be able to extend its battery life quite well. The aim here is to show you how to reduce your handset’s power consumption without making it unusable.
Here are eight ways you can boost your smartphone’s battery life.
Dim the screen brightness
Screen brightness is about the highest consumer of battery power. Most phones include an auto-brightness feature that automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness to suit ambient lighting levels. This mode uses less power than constantly running your screen at full brightness would. However, you can get far better results by reducing the brightness (under Settings/Options menu) to the lowest level you can tolerate Even if you do nothing else we suggest, following this one tip will extend the life of your battery dramatically.
Shorten the screen timeout
Screen time out is the amount of time the screen stays lit after receiving input. Under your phone’s display settings menu, you should find an option labeled ‘Screen Timeout’ or Backlight for BlackBerrys. Every second counts here, so set your timeout to the shortest available time. On most Android phones, the minimum is 15 seconds. If your screen timeout is currently set to two minutes, consider reducing that figure to 30 seconds or less. On a BlackBerry, the minimum you can set is 10 seconds.
Turn off Bluetooth
No matter how much you love using Bluetooth to transfer music or photos, once you are done, turn it off. Most phones ask for permission to switch on Bluetooth to send or receive a file, but will not turn it off automatically when done. By turning off the Bluetooth radio, you can add an hour or more to your phone’s battery life.
Turn off Wi-Fi
As with Bluetooth, your phone’s Wi-Fi radio is a serious battery drainer. While you will need to use your home or office Wi-Fi connection rather than 3G for internet access and other data services, there’s little point in leaving the Wi-Fi radio on when you’re out and about. Toggle it off when you go out the door, and turn it back on only when you plan to use data services within range of your Wi-Fi network. Look in the notifications area of you device to know if it’s on or not.
Don’t run apps in the background
Multitasking - the ability to run more than one application (app) at a time - is a powerful smartphone feature. It also burns a lot of energy, because every app you run uses a share of your phone’s processor cycles. By killing apps that you aren’t actually using, you can drastically reduce your CPU’s workload and cut down on its power consumption. For BlackBerry, press the Menu button and scroll to ‘Switch Application,’ a list of all running apps will show up. You can then select the ones not in use and close them. Sometimes, it’s worth closing all the apps and rebooting your phone from time to time as well.
Don’t use vibration only
Some people prefer to have their phone alert them to incoming calls by vibrating rather than playing a ringtone. Unfortunately, vibration uses much more power than playing a ringtone does. After all, a ringtone only has to make a tiny membrane in your phone’s speaker vibrate enough to produce sound. In contrast, the vibration motor rotates a small weight to make your whole phone shake. That process takes a lot more power. If you don’t want to be disturbed audibly, consider turning off all notifications and leave the phone in view so you can see when a new call is coming in. This approach is as courteous to your battery as it is to your friends and colleagues.
Switch from 3G to 2G
It is possible to switch Network Mode from 3G to 2G under Network and Connections Setting under Options menu for BlackBerry. Doing this can double battery power. The only implication is that download speeds are reduce when browsing. Everything else like calls, text messages and BBM, work just as fine under 2G setting.
Use Power-saving modes
Depending on your handset, you may find the manufacturer has provided power-saving features. Enabling this mode manages the phone’s various power-sapping features for you. It might, for example, prevent your apps from updating in the background, dim your screen, reduce the screen timeout setting, disable on-screen animations, and turn off vibration.
By default, this mode usually turns on when your battery level drops to 20 per cent, but you can set it to kick in at 30 per cent instead. And the sooner the phone switches to this power-saving mode, the longer its battery will last.
See Which Famous Rapper Was Robbed At Gun Point
TMZ reports 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Surveillance video appears to show that the rapper, who had his wallet stolen, was the intended target, according to TMZ. His entourage reportedly "ran away from the incident like 'cockroaches running from a flashlight.'" Police are currently looking for a suspect.
Bay Area news network KTVU reported 2 Chainz was robbed while outside of a local marijuana dispensary.
Rumors surrounding the alleged incident flooded the Internet on Sunday. Some even claimed 2 Chainz had been shot multiple times. That gossip proved false when the rapper took to the Oracle Arena stage in Oakland that evening for the 106 KMEL Summer Jam concert apparently uninjured.

8 Things You Should Never Tell Your Boss
In a perfect world, an employee’s relationship with his or her supervisor would be an affable yet respectful one based on trust, communication and a sense of working toward a common goal. But don’t get too comfortable. Friendly workplace repartee is fine and all, but as a rule of thumb you should always think before you speak in the presence of an authority figure so as to not regret keeping your tongue leashed in your mouth.
1. Did you hear that hot gossip about Andy in IT? Scandalous, am I right?
Unless the bossman or lady also happens to be a close BFF that you’ve known for years, water cooler hearsay, particularly when it involves co-workers, should remain right there — at the water cooler. Interoffice chatter can be damaging enough, and when you involve a higher-up, it has the potential to get really messy.
2. Can we talk about that gift subscription to the Jelly of the Month Club?
Avoid discussing holiday bonuses — or a lack thereof — with your boss. It’s bad form. A bonus is a bonus, and you should thank him or her whether you’re the recipient of a generous check or a year’s supply of canned preserves. If you’re upset about a holiday bonus that’s underwhelming or nonexistent, remember Clark Griswold and don’t go complaining to your off-kilter cousin Eddie.
3. I’m busy. Ask Rita to do it.
Four things that should never come out of one’s mouth in the presence of an employer: “I can’t,” “I won’t,” “that’s impossible,” “ask somebody else to do it,” or, gasp, “do it yourself.” Sure, you may be swamped beyond belief with TPS reports, but if a higher-up comes to you for something, your first impulse should be to say “of course” (sigh and roll your eyes after the boss has left the room).
4. I heard through the grapevine that you have a Match.com profile up … care to meet my recently divorced neighbor?
Unless your name is Patty Stanger, don’t attempt to meddle in your supervisor’s romantic life (or lack thereof). Matchmaking amongst co-workers is a mostly acceptable practice, but don’t get your boss involved unless he or she specifically requests that you help hook ‘em up.
5. OMG, I’m so bored!
Just as you shouldn’t tell your boss to stop putting things on your desk or your head will positively explode, you shouldn’t complain to him or her about being bored or that your job is too easy (there’s a reason Angry Birds was invented, you know). If you’re truly feeling listless and unstimulated beyond belief, be proactive and ask for additional work or volunteer to chip in with something that needs attention.
6. Happy hour lasted until 2 a.m. for me last night. Can I take off early?
Unless he or she was with you partying it up last night, your boss is likely to have little sympathy for your extracurricular activities, especially when it involves drinking. Don’t bother complaining about being hung over to them. Keep a large bottle of Advil at your desk, drink plenty of water and learn from your mistakes. It’s not their problem.
7. I watched “9 to 5″ and “Horrible Bosses” back-to-back this weekend. Care to meet me in a deserted parking garage after work?
Expressing your displeasure with a tyrannical or incompetent boss by telling him or her you’ve been loading up your Netflix queue with workplace revenge fantasies isn’t exactly a step in the right direction. If your boss is indeed displaying verbally abusive and unpredictable behavior that’s interfering with your performance, stand up for yourself, document what’s been going on and consider setting up a meeting with human resources to discuss your grievances (no water cooler gossip).
8. Really? Is this the best the company could do?
It doesn’t matter if you’re referring to new office chairs, the communal fridge or the location of a company retreat or holiday party. Don’t go on a whiny tirade to your supervisor about petty things regarding company spending that don’t sit well with you. Not every company lavishes its employees with Herman Miller and Morton’s, and no one likes a person with a bloated sense of entitlement, especially bosses.

Big brother Africa News: Fatima misses Elikem
How do you heal a broken heart? By singing, that's how.
Malawi's Fatima was a sight for sore eyes this evening, as she pined away for Elikem. The two were separated last night in a dramatic House swap decision made by Ruby Head of House, Selly.
Fatima is clearly missing those cosy moments she and her Ghanaian beau shared when they lved in the same House. This evening in the garden, all Fatima could do was sing sad songs. What started off as a fun singing session quickly became tinged with sadness, as Fatima ran through tear-inducing love songs.
The Malawian even remixed some of these songs, adding a few well-placed Elikem references. "I've got a feeling that Elikem will be back", she sang. Fatima really seems to be taking this separation hard, despite the smile she permanently has plastered on her face.
Nostalgia
We have a feeling Elikem is as gutted as his lady. Who can forget his plea to be brought back to the Ruby House next week?
LK4, Feza, Dillish, Hakeem and Koketso are up for possible Eviction this week. Click here to vote to keep your favourite Housemate in the game.
